Update on Operating Protocols

We are happy to share that as of Monday March 14, 2022 Springbank Air Training College will be following in line with the provincial ease of restrictions and lifting the mandatory masking policy as well as updating a few others.

We continue to support the personal comfort levels of all our students, staff and customers as we all acclimate. If at any time it is communicated that masking during a lesson is preferred, then both parties will be asked to respect this and wear a mask. Please remember to be kind and show patience for one another, you don’t always know what someone else is trying to navigate.

All students, renters and staff are to continue to follow the Daily Health Check. Do NOT show up to SATC facilities if you are feeling unwell, have been contacted by AHS to isolate or have received a positive Covid-19 PCR or rapid test.

Reporting of a cancellation for existing bookings please follow the link provided to complete and submit the form. Cancellation Report:

If you are over the age of 18 and have any of the following core symptoms, not related to a pre-existing illness or health condition, you are legally required to isolate. Stay home and away from other people until your symptoms get better.

Symptoms:

  • New onset of cough or worsening chronic cough

  • Fever

  • New or worsening shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Runny nose

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of sense of smell or taste

You are legally required to stay home and isolate for at least 5 days from when you first started having symptoms of COVID-19 or had your positive test (if you never had symptoms). You must keep isolating until your symptoms have improved and you have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.

  • You are the best person to decide if your symptoms are improving. An improvement in symptoms means that you are feeling better than you did in the previous days and you have no new COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Due to the nature of flight training, anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 will not be permitted to return to SATC facilities, until 10 days have passed from when symptoms began or you tested positive.

If you test negative and still have symptoms, continue to stay at home and away from other people until your symptoms get better.

Anyone identified as a close contact to a positive Covid-19 case, are asked to provide a negative test result to continue training without interruption. Those who are a household close contact, will be placed on a 5-day isolation period from SATC facilities and asked to monitor and update if becoming symptomatic.

Proof of negative results will be accepted using any Health Canada approved at-home rapid test to screen for Covid-19. If you don’t have access to one, stay home and away from other people until your symptoms get better.

International travelers will now be permitted to return to their training 5 days after returning to Canada.

Reporting of time away from regular training (not yet scheduled by SATC) such as, vacation, appointments, study etc. Student Training Absence Notice

Rental and CPL time-building flights may continue to have up to 2 passengers onboard. Passengers, will once again be allowed access to the facilities but must provide proof of vaccination at time of booking request, or wear a mask when accessing SATC facilities for any reason, including, washrooms, regardless of their vaccination status.

Thanks to everyone’s due diligence, Springbank Air Training College has been able to operate safely throughout the pandemic and safe health practices of hand washing/sanitizing, physical distancing and enhanced cleaning of touched surfaces remain critical to our continued success. Let’s continue to keep up the good work.

Sincerely,
