COVID-19 Vaccination Update

Updated: Sep 28, 2021

In response to the new restrictions announced by the Government of Alberta this past Wednesday, and in alignment with the aviation industry, Springbank Air Training College will be participating in the Government of Alberta’s “Restriction Exemption Program”. SATC is dedicated in helping to bring down Alberta’s COVID-19 cases and not only provide all our staff, students & customers a safe environment to come to, but also be able to remain fully operational.

As of Friday October 1st, 2021, all SATC Students, Renters, Passengers and Customers, aged 12 and over, will be required to have proof of vaccination, have proof of legitimate exemption to vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of entering any SATC facilities and aircraft (SATC operations will continue with current provincial restrictions in effect until October 1st, 2021)

Proof of vaccination* must include first and last name (Scanned copy of a paper record received or printable card from AB MyHealth Records app)

  • single dose accepted until October 25, 2021, if received more than 2 weeks before entering SATC facilities

  • double dose required after October 25, 2021

  • Proof of privately paid negative PCR or rapid test within 72 hours of each booking (tests from AHS or Alberta Precision Labs will not be accepted) The fees associated with the private tests will be at the expense of the persons wishing to access SATC facilities.

  • Rapid and PCR testing will not be accepted after December 31, 2021. All students and renters will be required to be fully vaccinated or have legitimate exemption to vaccination.

Masks will still be required in all SATC facilities, aircraft, sims, briefing rooms and classrooms regardless of vaccination status.

Please, do

not show up to SATC facilities if you are feeling unwell, have been contacted by AHS to isolate or have received a positive COVID-19 test.

Aviation is a federally regulated industry in Canada and full vaccination of employees is mandatory. If you are planning a career in aviation, you must acknowledge this fact.

We want to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding during these unfortunate times.

*Disclaimer: The regulations and requirements outlined in this document may be subject to change depending on the continuing updates issued by our Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic. *
